It has been a long time since I last updated the blog.....BUT we have pictures to share.  These pictures are from March.  Still trying to figure out where April photos are.  I will get May's uploaded soon.  So enjoy our show and tell from March!  Yes, I know some of these are sideways.  I am trying to figure out how to make them the correct way, without having to delete them!  :)  Enjoy!

Disappearing Pinwheels

I decided that I would post this on the blog, so that I can find it easily!  I love this idea!  Imagine the possibilities!  Now to gather my fabric to make a new quilt.  Like all of you, admit it, I have too many projects to start another one, but when I see something like this, it draws me in.  What a great scrap user!  Enjoy!  Missouri Quilt Company Disappearing Pinwheel Quilt

Block of the Month

Time to add some pictures.  Becky kindly took pictures of the progression of her first block for the new block of the month.  I hope this helps!

Friday, February 14, 2014

Well here goes!  Let me know what you think.  And if there might be any thing you would like to add, like pictures!  We can always use pictures!  If anyone has taken pictures during guild meeting, please send them my way, so that we can all see!  Thank you!

Just a recap of last nights meeting.  We are beginning a new block of the month!  It looks to be different, and fun!  A folded block sampler.  Check out the Facebook page for the files on what was handed out.  I will be posting those this weekend.  We also have a block challenge, using some "ugly" fabric.  My opinion is that it isn't that ugly!  Have fun with it!  The block is due at our April meeting, and must be a 12 1/2" block, to finish at 12".  You must use at least a 2 1/2" square of the "ugly" fabric in your block. We will be having a contest to see whose block wins the challenge!  So get creating!  These blocks will be used in a charity quilt. The green 1 1/2" strips were passed out.  Unfortunately, 2 of us (hanging head in shame), forgot to bring them!  I promise to bring them next month!

March will bring with it warmer weather, I hope, and National Quilt day!  We will again meet at Legacy Care Center in Layton again for this fun event.  Becky Smith, our beloved president, is still looking for volunteers.  The sign up sheet will be passed around again next month.  The event will be March 21 and 22nd.  Plan on attending!  It will be fun!

We are now officially a closed guild.  We have reached our maximum.  Great job!  We discussed whether we should have 2 meetings a month.  An afternoon session and the evening session.  For now, we stay at the evening session.  Fortunately, not everyone is able to come every month, otherwise, we would have to find a new meeting place!  Marlene is wonderful for letting us meet at My Heritage every month.

Alrighty then!  That's it for now!  Stay tuned for more fun.  And much more updating.
